Open Mouths - Laughing & Screaming!  Yes, you'll be laughing & screaming in this class as we find out what it takes to make an open mouth as we sew, stuff & sculpt a head. It's a pretty cool technique with a lot of possibilities & you may chose to make a variation of it - missing teeth like a pirate or a witch for instance. This class covers a couple of important design aspects to take into consideration when building an open mouth into a doll. |
Facing Faces!  Using her skills as a portrait artist Patti will show you tricks to creating perfect faces each time. You don't have to be an "artist" to create faces using these techniques. Short and to the point. I've completely changed the way I teach faces and am so excited at the results people are having. Gone back to one of my old professor's style of teaching faces. Water Color Faces  Sherry uses watercolor pencils and gel pens to achive the illusion of a 3D head. You'll be doing a flat face doll and she will provide a outline of the face to either copy or trace. Soft Sculpted Face on Knit  The face had a small glass bead eye, an attached eyelid, sculpted nose, lips and eyes. You will learn full face coloration and finishing techniques. This is a great face technique and can be made from several different knit fabrics each yielding a different look. I have chosen to use a cotton lycra knit fabric that has a 2 way stretch. The 2 way stretch gives you the most flexibility in the development of the features as it gives in all directions. Think of this class as a technique class and make several heads with different fabrics and pulling the tension on your stitches differently. The head can be made in many sizes using the same techniques. |
