Hi everyone, here is a picture of my trunk!! I found this absolutely fabulous fabric and a Quilt Shop, I decided not to put the mesh over it because of the beauty of the fabric, it look like the real thing.
Julie, I'm not sure about my body, I don't have much in the way of shoulder's, I think the bust's are to high, maybe I should try and stuff it all over again.! or well she work like she is?
Thank You , Pat Watson

I used a number of "sparkly" threads on her, including her trunk. She does not have fingernails, but she may decide she needs those too! I like to think that my autumn Mother Nature is saying goodbye to her bluebird and butterfly friends before they head south for the winter. She will soon be going to sleep for the winter, to awake renewed in the spring (which we are still waiting for in Vermont!)........Karen Witt

I finished (finally) my Mother Nature, and had a wonderful time working on her. She is definitely the best doll I have ever made - although I am somewhat new to making dolls. Thank you and Julie for a great class! The instructions were easy to follow and very detailed. I did take a "face and hands" class at the Quilter's Marketplace in Delray Beach, FL, though, which improved my skill levels greatly in the face and hands department. Take a look at how great Mother Nature's hands turned out!

I made over 75 fabric beads, which I stitched to her green and brown dyed scrim skirt with a chenille yarn. I got the idea for the beads from Quilting Arts magazine, spring 2003 issue, pgs. 30-33. I made around 40 leaves which I stitched to her skirt mostly, but I used a few for her headpiece. I made her bra from moss and the same green tulle I used on her trunk. I then covered her in green or clear large and small beads and insect buttons of various sizes.

Her bird is yellow (to bring home our troops) and white (for Peace in the Middle East -the war started as I was making the bird). I think she is a Summer Mother Nature. She has a beautiful place of honor in our family room. ...........Marni Robins
