The G Street Doll Club was founded by Sorrell Caplan in the early 1990s, and meets six times a year at the popular G Street Fabrics in Rockville, MD. On alternating months, we enjoy getting together for informal workshops.
Our club exhibits each spring at The Friendship Heights Community Center, and each December at Strathmore Hall (an historic center for the arts), both of which are located in Maryland. Some of our members have exhibited at the Artisans Center of Virginia in Waynesboro, VA, and we were recently invited to participate in the holiday gift show at the Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC. In 2002, The G Street Doll Club had the privilege of gifting Mrs. Laura Bush with a collection of patriotic dolls, made by members of our club. Our club also enjoys providing dolls for charities whenever possible, and have sent dolls to a variety of locations overseas, including Afghanistan. In 2006, we look forward to contributing a special collection of dolls to the American Heart Association which will be auctioned at their Annual Black Tie Gala, to be held at the Ritz-Carlton in McLean, VA.
The G Street Doll Club is also a member of Artisans United in Annandale, VA.
We have a lot of fun, and love new members, so please come join us anytime!! Please contact
